KOA:R was meant to be the tie-in.the first taste of the Amalur was created (according to the lore) 2500 years before their free to play MMO, Project Copernicus. The worst culprit for that recently was Guild Wars 2. Doesn't this have something to do with the area, your level when in the area and a bunch of different things being calculated? I can never get it quite right in any RPG i've EVER played. It sullys the entire franchise that their pet most frustrating game of all time that they beat singlehandedly is going to be available to all types of gamers.īe honest now, you can count on 10 fingers and 10 toes the amount of RPG's out there that have mostly useless crap in their game shops. None of them have to use it, they can all play the game how they like, but they seem to not want the temptation there for anyone. It reminds me of the furor amongst fans regarding the news of the developer for DS2 including an 'easy' mode. I love it because of the fact i can reroll my character at any time.but never have. Fans of the game aren't pretending it's the next best thing, we honestly all enjoy it for different reasons. Amalur was never meant to be Dark Souls, it never meant to frustrate the player and make the average player switch it off in frustration. Witcher was too obtuse, the Divinity games, Gothic.all of them have game breaking, frustrating problems that only appeal to the RPG aficionado. It was Skyrim and Amalur that introduced me to RPG's even though i'd tried many times to get into them, starting with the earliest TES games but never found them accessible enough. I'll agree on the Torchlight comment as i like that game for the same reasons as i do Amalur. I too was bored utterly by the storylines, the dry acting, the dull cutscenes.but when it came down to it i was playing for two reasons the world and the combat. I too played Amalur expecting similar things and it was only in between 10 and 20 hours in that i finally gave up the notion and played the game for what it was. I think the main reason people were, including myself, comparing it to TES was because it was released soon after Skyrim. It's your opinion and of course you're entitled to it. I'm just providing another perspective for potential buyers since fans of the game pretend as if it's the next best thing. This is just my opinion so don't get all sensitive. Uninteresting lore aside this game plays like a 3d version of Torchlight only not as good. The difference is D2 knew what it was and didn't try to be anything more. They both were pretty much open world hack n slash games. The game they should be comparing it to would be Divinity 2. This game is nothing at all like TES so why people kept comparing them I have no idea. Unless you're just a RPG completest this game will bore the hell out of you. Gold is really useless as the merchants have few things actually of interest. Limited character build options, decisions have little impact on the outcome of the game and the ability to re-roll your character at any time cheapens the experience. It just seems that people want to hate on what's popular so bad they'll back any alternative as superior. It even utilizes the same fast travel system Oblivion got criticized for. Boring storyline, uninteresting NPC's, and a million fetch quests. First off all nearly every criticism people had of Oblivion is present in this game. I don't know what drug those people are on.
#Kingdom of amalur reckoning mods bears series#
Over and over again I read how great this game was and how it made TES series look bland. First of all I'm not angry in the slightest, so this can't be considered a rage thread.
